  RTI is allied with numerous academicians and corporate researchers who bring requisite expertise to the projects, expertise in areas such as information technology (IT), experimental methods, and specific application content. Within RTI, a multi-disciplinary team is employed having backgrounds in computer science, psychology, education, usability, statistics, and survey research.

RTI has 40+ years of experience in working with universities to advance their research by involving them with real-world applications. RTI also has an established Technology Assisted Learning (TAL) program that links advanced information technologies with schools and training organizations that can make use of IT. The TAL program supports the application of advanced IT for training the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), and corporations including Michelin, KLM, Ford, and Astec.
